Your ultimate defense against kiosk robberies and burglaries Cash, tobacco, and liquor are what burglars focus on most when committing a robbery or burglary in a kiosk. In the daytime, they can attempt an armed robbery and threaten the cashiers, and at night, they can shatter shop windows or work heavy iron doors open.

PROTECT Your Staff, Stock & Interior Your 24/7 guard Any attempts at burglary or robbery, successful or not, will have a negative result for the kiosk owner—the employees will not feel safe and secure at their workplace anymore, and replacing stolen goods and fixing the damages will be costly. Kiosks are often targets for this because of their valuables, such as tobacco, alcohol, and cash. Employees will also feel less safe knowing an incident has happened. Therefore, personal security for the staff is really important, so they can feel safe going to work. For this, a proactive security solution is needed. Even if a robbery or burglary doesn’t lead to significant direct financial losses, it can still be expensive if the continuity of the kiosk is disturbed. Reparations of the kiosk if it is damaged and possible downtime can have a great effect on most kiosks. This cost is more indirect but could be minimized if there had been a proactive security solution to stop the crime.

A PROTECT Fog Cannon® will be your 24/7 guard, always there to protect your employees, customers, your cash, interior and goods, until the police or alarm response team arrives. If burglars assume that small shops and kiosks are an easy target – they will have to think again! “The fog has a preventive effect. (…). By avoiding broken windows and doors, we save both ‘down time’ and money,” says Lars Eklund. “We chose security fog protection in close consultation with our insurance company. We choose PROTECT™ because the products are simple, the service costs are low, and they are easy to integrate with the existing alarm systems in our stores,” notes Lars Eklund.

“Since 2013, we have installed the security fog systems in all new stores, and stores that have experienced burglaries. We now have PROTECT Fog Cannons® in almost 140 of our stores. Many installations also have the PROTECT Security Sounder™ siren, which further stresses the burglar,” explains Security Manager Lars Eklund. He is responsible for security in the approx. 300 Pressbyrån stores and seventy-five 7-Eleven shops that are closed at night, and the twenty-five 7-Eleven stores that are open 24 hours a day in Sweden.
No, the dense security fog is quite harmless. The fog can be compared to “disco smoke”. PROTECT’s security fog have been documented by laboratories at home and abroad, including the Institute of Technology in Denmark. See documentation on our website.
The fog from a PROTECT Fog Cannon ® will stay in the room for up to an hour after firing without venting. We recommend venting within one hour of the firing.
No. However, we recommend venting within 1 hour of firing to avoid condensation of the water-based fog. If this does not happen, you will probably still not be able to see or feel that a fog cannon has been fired. Any cleaning on horizontal surfaces should only be with a ragged cloth without detergents.
A fog cannon from PROTECT ™ can also be activated even if the power to the building and the burglar alarm has been interrupted. It provides the built-in battery which keeps the fog cannon on standby for up to 3 hours. A functionality that gives the user extra security.
Security fog have a simple and straightforward function – namely to cut off access to valuable property for over an hour by temporarily making them invisible. A fog cannon does not catch a thief in a building or cut off the escape routes in any way. Upon proper mounting, the thieves are immediately confronted with the fog, so they immediately flee along the path they entered – thereby avoiding loss of valuables.
